You're invited to attend a presentation on Open System Scanning - the Future of CAD/CAM
Closed System Scanning - Dedicated and Proprietary
Over 15 years ago CAD/CAM technology allowed dental laboratories to purchase expensive scanners and scan their models and have alumina copings manufacturered by one distant manufacturer. The is known as "closed system scanning" as the lab could only work with one manufacturer. Since that time scanning, design and milling technology has vastly improved, increasing accuracy, materials and applications, yet many companies still offer "closed system scanners". These systems are proprietary which means a lab can only send work to one manufacturer (milling centre).
Open System Scanning Means Flexibility of Choice
Open system scanning is not proprietary or dedicated to any particular milling centre. Labs can now have an affordable scanner that allows them to send their milled zirconium and custom implant abutments to their choice of milling centre. This flexibility allows a lab choices that closed systems do not offer.
The Adam Centre and 3dO are "open system" CAD/CAM technologies.
We are presenting two hands-on seminars in June 2010, where you will learn more about the advantages of flexible, non-proprietary Open System Scanning technology.
